The Magic at Trwyn Du Lighthouse Near Penmon Village in Wales
Penmon is a promontory, village and ecclesiastical parish on the
south-east tip of the Isle of Anglesey in Wales. Hear on the known Black
Point near the Trwyn Du Lighthouse there can be found a real phenomena.
Despite the beautiful scenes and great landscapes, sometimes in the
night the water is full with luminescent plankton that makes is like
there are some underwater lighting. The author of the photos of this
article is Kris Williams, and he has created some magical photos of this

‘After The Rain Has Passed’
This photo is taken in April after the windy day with lots of
showers. At the end of the day the bay near Penmon was perfect for his
shot.
‘Cascading Tides’
This photo is taken as a time-lapse of 2-3 hours. The waves near the
Penmon were dropping in all directions and created this amazing effect.
’Playful Seas’
A photo taken in just 20 minutes. As the author says, he had to
compete with the local seals so he can catch some great weaves crushing
down.
‘Bioluminescence’
This is the real magic that happens in the sea near Penmon. The
luminescent plankton creating this lighting underwater effect. It looks
like watching the aurora borealis just in blue light under the sea.

The magic continues when the “electric like waves” are crushing on
the beach. As Kris says, “Who needs Mauritius when you have this on your
doorstep”. Breathtaking, don’t you think?
‘Bombs Away’
The same day Kris was throwing some rocks in the see to see and
capture the plankton excited. The effect was: underwater electric bombs.
As he says, the plankton was present near the bay for 5 days.
‘Aurora Over Anglesey # 4′
Aurora is also present over Penmon, Anglesey. This amazing shot was
taken on February 27th 2014. At that time he has taken more then 750
images, but has edited only a few of them. Here is a link to the

‘Lunar Rainbow’
This is another great effect. A rainbow shown as a result of the light of the moon. It is just amazing….
